The National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC) is rolling out a new system that will change the way alarm receiving centres (ARCs) communicate with constabularies throughout the UK. The system, known as ECHO, which stands for “Electronic Call Handling Operations,” will allow for the direct transfer of activation data originating from security systems using digital communication channels.

According to tests, ECHO will provide an average of four minutes faster communication time than the previous manual telephone-based system, enabling a quicker response from the local constabulary. While not all ARCs and constabularies are currently connected to ECHO, this system has the potential to improve police response times across the country.

Police connections are only granted to NSI and SSAIB-approved systems, ensuring that the highest level of security and reliability is maintained.

Crime prevention and rapid response are critical in safeguarding your property, and ECHO will play a significant role in ensuring the safety of your home or business. Statistics show that faster police response times can result in the arrest of more criminals and the reduction of property damage, loss, and theft.
